GREAT WESTERN BUILDINGS HAVE THE STRENGTH OF A HOUSE AND ARE HAND-CRAFTED ON YOUR SITE.

FAQ'S

-- Does the shed need to sit on a concrete slab?
No. The sheds are built on your site on 4x4
treated runners which protects against
termites and decay.
--Do we need a permit?
Check with your city building ordinances.
Each municipality has different
requirements.
--How long does it take to construct the shed?
Depending on the size, 1 or 2 days.
--Does the site need to be level?
Yes. Our builders can only level up to 7”
using treated wood and shingles.
--Does Great Western Buildings sell self-install kits?
No We do not.
--How much clearance is needed to build the shed?
We need at least 2' around and 6' above
 the shed to build
--Should I caulk my building?
Yes. Caulking will keep water from getting
behind your trim boards and causing water
damage. Caulk all horizontal, vertical and
diagonal joints along the door and corner
trim. The amount of caulk will depend upon
the size of bead. (An 8x8 usually takes 2
tubes)
--Should I paint my building?
Yes. We recommend using a good quality
acrylic latex house paint on the siding and
prime your trim prior to painting.
--Where should I paint?
It’s important to cover all exterior siding,
door, door trim and corner trim. (On doors
paint front, back, top, bottom and sides to
seal the door.) Also, run your brush on
bottom of siding edge near the ground to
keep moisture damage from occurring.
